PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to manage a cluster having a high size adjust possibility. CONSTITUTION: The cluster system comprises: a plurality of data processing systems(202 to 218) divided into a plurality of resource groups(220 to 226), wherein each resource group comprises at least two data processing system and provides a computing service; at least one network for connecting the data processing systems in the cluster system; and a failure mechanism(ha-resource-group-220) for discriminating all resource groups comprising a failed data processing system in response to a failure of a data processing system in the cluster system and for determining whether a fixed number for each discriminated resource group exists with regard to each discriminated resource group comprising the failed data processing system, wherein a computing service is provided when each discriminated resource group is an availability.
