PURPOSE: An air compressor is provided to continuously operate without supplementary supply of water, to keep the water clean for long time by reducing the impurity density of circulating water and to reduce the amount of bacteria. CONSTITUTION: The compressor comprises:a water tank(8) storing water in its inside; a compressor(10) to compress the air;:Herein, the water spraying type air compressor spray water into the compressor from the water tank using the pressure of the compressing air supplied into the water tank:a pressurizing water spraying type line(20) to guide the pressurizing water into the compressor; a control device(22) to open and close the pressurizing water spraying type line;:Herein, the pressurizing water spraying type line is opened by a starting command of the compressor before starting of the compressor, and the pressurizing water is sprayed into the compressor. Thereby, the impurity density is decreased, and the propagation of the bacteria is restrained.
