PURPOSE: A LCD and manufacturing the LCD is provided, which decreases an occurrence region of an orientation badness and a productivity of LCD with a high aperture ratio. CONSTITUTION: The LCD comprises: a transparent insulating substrate; a plurality of scanning line (2) to be formed on the transparent insulating substrate in a horizontal direction; a plurality of signal line (3) to be formed to the scanning line (2) in a vertical direction; a second substrate for forming an orientation electrode and a light shading film on other transparent insulating substrate; an orientation film to be formed on the first and second substrates (1); and a liquid crystal layer to be inserted between the first and second substrates (1). Thereby, it is possible to can manufacture the LCD with a high aperture ratio.
