PURPOSE: A flat display device is provided to achieve a thin display device although a driving circuit is monolithic with a substrate composing the display device. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a display panel having an electrode substrate including a plurality of horizontal pixel lines on which a plurality of display pixels are arranged, a driving circuit substrate supplying a driving signal to the electrode substrate of the display panel, a connector electrically connecting the electrode substrate to the driving circuit substrate, and a surface light source including a wave guide disposed on the other side of the display panel and a pipe-typed light source.
