PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To erase the electric offset that is the greater part of offset errors in a gyro output signal by subtracting the gyro output obtained by reversing the polarity of a phase modulator from the gyro output before reversion. SOLUTION: An optical fiber gyro 30 using a sensing coil 2 consisting of optical fiber is provided with a polarity reversing switch 20 between a phase modulator 9 and a driver 16 for driving it. When a system is started, for example, a command 21a from an arithmetic part 21 is inputted to the polarity reverting switch 20 to reverse the polarity of the piezo element of the phase modulator 9, the angle speed input at that time is detected by a detector 7, and the resulting gyro output 18a is stored in an arithmetic part 21 as the gyro output after reversion. The switch 20 is returned back again by the command 21a, and the gyro output before reversion is obtained in the same manner. The output after reversion is subtracted from the output before reversion, whereby an angle speed signal output from which the offset generated in an electric system 10 is erased can be provided. |
