<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high spatial resolution by laminating a plurality of scintillators having different damping times in the depth direction, bundling a plurality of the resulting scintillators to form a scintillator block, and connecting it to a position sensitive optical sensor. SOLUTION: A scintillator block 4 is optically bonded to a position sensitive photomultiplier(PSPMT) to constitute a positron emission tomographic Gd2, SiO2 (hereinafter referred to as GSO) detector 3 detectable of depth directional position. In the scintillator block 4, three GSO scintillators differed in Ce concentration are connected in the depth direction, and a plurality of the resulting scintillators is bundled to form one block. The scintillator may be LiGd2, SiO2, the number of layers is most desirably 3, and the number of scintillators to be bundled is most desirably 8. As the position sensitive optical sensor, the positional operation from a plurality of PMT outputs can be also performed in addition to the positive sensitive PMT.</p> |
