<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the image quality of this image converter in comparison with that of a conventional converter. SOLUTION: Field frequency conversion and classification adaptive processing are applied to 1st interlace scanning image data (S120) to produce 2nd interlace scanning image data (S144) with a field frequency which is a prescribed multiple of that of the 1st interlace scanning image data and having a field image which does not exist in the 1st interlace scanning image data, so as to produce a natural dynamic image by improving the time resolution and high definition image by improving vertical resolution, then flickers caused on a display screen are eliminated, and image quality is further enhanced in comparison to that of the conventional converter.</p> |
