PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detecting method and a calibration method of a liquid level detector, in order to surely detect the liquid level in a liquid storing vessel. SOLUTION: A first liquid level detector 7 detecting a liquid level as a continuous value, and a second liquid level detector 8 detecting one or a plurality of specified liquid levels are installed in a liquid storing vessel 2. By comparing the liquid levels detected by both of the detectors, abnormality of at least one out of the detectors 7, 8 is judged. On the basis of the liquid level detected by the second detector 8, the first detector 7 is calibrated. As to the detection of abnormality, when the liquid level detected by the first detector 7 exceeds a specified error range to the liquid level detected by second detector 8, abnormality of the first detector 7 is judged. When the liquid level detected by the first detector 7 changes exceeding the liquid level to be detected by the second detector 8, and the liquid level detected by the second detector 8 does not change, abnormality of the second detector 8 is judged.
