<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give desired reaction to an object in an outer member by controlling the flow of a fluid, which is generated by means of the movement of the object in the outer member incorporating tubes filled with the fluid. SOLUTION: An outer member 2 into which the bust of a user can be inserted is formed of a soft material and a plurality of tubes 5 and 5 filled with fluids 9 are incorporated in an arm part 4. One end in each tube 5 is connected to a tank 14 via solenoid valves 13 and 13. When the user 6 inserts an arm 17 into the arm part 4 and bends it, volumes in the tubes 5 and 5 change and the fluids 9 and 9 flow. When the solenoid valves 13 and 13 are closed, the flow of the fluids 9 and 9 is stopped and feeling that the arm is brought into contact with a rigid body is transmitted to the arm 17. When something that is not the rigid body is rasped in a virtual space, the closing convenience of the solenoid valves 13 and 13 is adjusted and therefore the fluid resistance of the fluids 9 and 9 is changed. Then, the degree of hardness felt by the arm 17 is changed and various feelings can be given.</p> |
