PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use nonvolatile oil as pre-wetting oil, when adopting constitution that uses a high-viscosity, high-density liquid toner showing nonvolatility, and to use the same pre-wetting oil as the carrier oil of the liquid toner. SOLUTION: A photoconductor 10 is charged by a charging device 11 and then exposed by an exposure device 12 to form an electrostatic latent image. A pre-wetting device 13 applies the same silicone oil as the carrier oil of a liquid toner in a thickness of 4 to 10μm to the surface of the photoconductor 10. The developing roller of a developing device 14 causes the toner particles of a liquid developing solution to cling to the photoconductor according to an electric field produced between the developing roller and the photoconductor 10. An oil removal mechanism 21 is provided in a position on the photoconductor 10 after development or in a position after transfer to the intermediate transfer medium 15, for removing oil consisting of excess carriers in pre-wetting and developing toner layers that have migrated to the intermediate transfer medium from image support, together with the toner particles during transfer. |
