PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image processing unit by which image data are transferred at a high speed without increasing the memory capacity. SOLUTION: A microprocessor 48 applies image processing to digital image data, whose data size is reduced by a data size reduction means 41 and the image processing unit is provided with two buffers 46, 47 of identical capacity, whose total storage capacity is equivalent to one image frame portion or more so as to conduct image processing and transfer of the image data in parallel and outputs the data to an output means 74 at a high speed.
