PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC high-voltage generator with which the voltage does not change before and after the switching of a polarity changeover switch. SOLUTION: A DC high-voltage generator is equipped with a transformer 1 for changing as a Cockcroft circuit, capacitor plate 2, ..., 2 which are arranged in plural stages in the number of stages which specifies the voltage value of the circuit, so that they constitute cascade circuits in parallel with one another at each of the output terminal sides in a pair of this, rectifying element plates D1, ..., D6 which are mounted in the direction of specifying the output polarity, with the junctions of its kind equal in stages and the junctions of its kind one stage different in stages from among the junctions B0, ..., B3 of the capacitor plates 2, ..., 2 as one pair each separately for each stage between the cascade circuit that these constitute, and polarity switches 6, ..., 6 which are arranged between these and the junctions B0, ..., B3 of the capacitor plates 2, ..., 2 and moreover can switch the polarity of the circuit over to either positive polarity or negative polarity. The mounting position of each pair arranged on each stage of the rectifying element plates D1, ..., D6 is replaced to be reverse on alternate stages of the capacitor plates 2, ..., 2.
