PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a rechargeable electric apparatus to immediately issue an alarm with sufficient volume in the case of emergency irrespective of a charging capacity of a battery, in a rechargeable electric apparatus wherein the battery is charged with electric power generated by rotating a generator in a casing by manual operation with a handle. SOLUTION: A gear train 3 for transmitting rotation of a handle 14 to a generator 2 and a siren 6 to wail are arranged in a casing 1. A gear 61 is mounted on the rotary shaft of the siren 6. Moreover, a control mechanism composed of a rocking lever 7 which can be rocked by ON-OFF operation of an operating part 72, and idle gears 75 which are held at the free end of the rocking lever 7 and can mesh with both gears 31, 61 simultaneously is arranged between a gear 31 of the gear train 3 and the gear 61 of the siren 6.
