The invention concerns a container which comprises a container body (4) with an outer layer (5) of plastics and an inner layer (6) of an aluminium-containing material. The container further comprises a base section (3) with an outer layer (7) of plastics and an inner layer (8) of an aluminium-containing material. The base section (3) comprises a bead-shaped protruding peripheral section (11). In the region of this peripheral section (11) the outer layer (5) of the container body (4) is welded to the outer layer (7) of the base section (3), and the inner layer (6) of the container body (4) is welded to the inner layer (8) of the base section (3). The aluminium-containing inner layers (6; 8) are welded by high-frequency welding. The heat produced during this process heats the plastics outer layers (5;7) to such an extent that they are likewise welded together.
