The electrical conductor (6) has an essentially polygonal cross-section with rounded edges. In order to locally reduce the electrical field strengths, the rounded shape of at least one edge (11) has a larger mean radius of curvature than that of the other edges (12). The edge with the larger radius of curvature can be circular in cross-section. An Independent claim is also included for a multiple parallel conductor, a twisted conductor, an electrical winding, a transformer and a method of constructing electrical windings. |
