A three-dimensional signal processor for performing three-dimensional signal processing such as dual scanning/horizontal frequency conversion of a digital broadcasting signal, using a motion vector included in a decoded signal. In this processor, three-dimensional signal processing is performed using motion information extracted during decoding. If the motion is less than a minimum level then for double scan conversion the picture data for the first field to be interposed between two existing fields is synthesised from the picture data of the second field and picture data for the second field to be interposed between the two frames is synthesised from the picture data of the first field(Figure 3C not shown). When the motion is between a minimum and a maximum value the data from the first synthesised field is generated from that of the first field and likewise for the second synthesised field(Figure 3B not shown). When the motion is greater than a maximum value then the first field to be synthesised is generated from both first and second field with the first field having a higher weighting and the same for the second synthesised field with the second field having the higher weighting(Figure 3A). For progressive scan conversion the motion value would indicate whether inter or intra frame coding is to be used. |
