Heat is recovered from waste water for heating tap water fed to a shower (1). The shower has a mixture tap (2) and an outlet (3). The device used comprises a heating boiler (4) with a cold water input (5) fed and a hot water outlet (6). A heat exchanger (7) is incorporated in the fold water input feed near to the boiler. The heat exchanger is connected to the outlet from the shower. The hot water outlet and the cold water input feed lead to the mixture tap (2). The heat exchanging surface of the heat exchanger is slightly inclined and its highest point is close to the outlet. The heat exchanger is blunt conical in shape.
