<p>A jig comprises a sleeve 14 to fit over a tube 2, and a plurality of dimple forming pins 13 which are pressed inwards by a hydraulic or pneumatic ram to form dimples in the tube. The ram 22 is provided by a yoke 20 which is preferably movable around the jig so that it presses the dimple forming pins in turn. Preferably, the jig has at least one annular recess (18, figure 9) in which the yoke is mounted. The dimples non-reversibly connect the tube 2 to a tubing connector body 1, the tube preferably being part of a tubing string for use downhole in gas and oil well operations.</p> |
