PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make executable handling of a battery and taking out an article from a housing box keeping sitting state in a wheel chair by arranging a battery for a power source and the housing box on the side of a seat part. SOLUTION: The battery 11 to be the power source of a power motor and a control box is held at a place which is over a driving wheel 7 on the left side and on the side of a seat part 2, e.g. by a battery holder 45 fixed to the outside of a main frame 21, and the battery 11 is attachable and detachable up/down or forward/backward. In addition, the housing box 18 capable of putting an article in and out by opening and closing a lid is similarly arranged at a place which is over a theriving wheel 7 on an opposite side and on the side of a seat part 2. The box 18 has a size capable of housing the battery 11 removed from the holder 45. In addition, neither of the battery 11 nor the box 18 is projected upward from the sheet surface of the part 2 and is projected outward from the wheel 7 in the direction of the wheel width. Thus, the wheel chair can be operated while sitting in it.
