摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring-body cutter, a component or a cutting tip of which exerts an excellent resistance to damage in a high speed pin-milling-cutting operation of a crankshaft. SOLUTION: A cutting tip of a ring-body cutter contains 9 to 13% Co, 0.5 to 1.5% Cr as binder phase forming components, 0.5 to 3% TaCO as a hard phase forming component, and the remainders (from the surface side of a substrate): TiC layer having 0.1 to 1μm average layer thickness as the first layer, TiCN layer having 2 to 10μm average layer thickness as the second layer, one or two or more kinds of TiCO layer having 0.1 to 1μm average layer thickness, TiNO layer and TiCNO layer as the third layer,α-Al2O3 layer and/orκ-Al2O3 layer having 0.5 to 2.5μm average layer thickness as the fourth layer, and TiN layer having 0.1 to 1μm average layer thickness as the fifth layer. The hard covering layer composed of the first to the fifth layer is deposited with a total average layer thickness of 3 to 13μm by chemical vapour deposition and/or physical vapour deposition.
