PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce multifunctional glass particles which have enough air purifying performance and enough light-accumulating property and which can give various kinds of functions such as antibacterial property, deodorizing property and contamination preventing property, and to provide a producing method, applying method and use method of the particles above described. SOLUTION: Multifunctional glass particles 1 are produced by coating the surfaces of glass particles 2 which transmit light with an inorg. coating layer 3 consisting of a mixture of photocatalytic titanium oxide and/or light-accumulating powder or org. inorg. pigment and an inorg. coating material essentially consisting of SiO2 and org. metal compds. The obtd. multifunctional glass particles 1 are applied by spraying them on or blowing into an inorg. base layer formed on a base body so that the multifunctional glass particles 1 are partly exposed to air on the surface of the inorg. base layer, and then curing the inorg. base layer. Moreover, if necessary, the multifunctional glass particles 1 are mixed with normal glass particles, and the obtd. mixture glass particles are laid on the bottom of a water tank or vase or on the soil in a flowerpot. Or, the multifunctional glass particles are used to form a pattern on a body such as a vase.
