PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce intake noise in time of a low engine speed and high load operation. SOLUTION: In an engine intake controller having a device capable of controlling an opening of a throttle valve independent of an accelerator operating amount, a target throttle valve opening OP is compared with a prescribed opening OP1 in time of a high load and a low engine speed (step 4). If the target throttle valve opening OP is not less than the prescribed opening OP1, the prescribed opening OP1 is output as a throttle valve opening command (step 7, 6).
