PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile rear body structure restraining deformation of the lower part of a rear pillar to a minimum when dynamic force is received from the rear and being advantageous with respect to weight and cost. SOLUTION: A vertically long-shaped outer reinforcement 9 is provided on the vehicular external side of a wheel house outer 3 with its lower end connected more to the rear than the top 3a of the wheel house outer 3 and its upper end connected close to a rear window glass opening 8 on the upper part of a rear pillar 7 and a reinforcement plate 10 connected to the upper surface of the wheel house outer 3 is provided in the front of the outer reinforcement 9 through impact absorbing parts S at specific intervals.
