PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for the diagnosis of external secretion function of pancreas enabling the quick and precision examination of the external secretion function of pancreas in high sensitivity while reducing the load on the examinee. SOLUTION: This agent for the diagnosis of external secretion function of pancreas contains an amino acid, a peptide or their pharmacologically permissible salt containing at least one 13C or 14C (excluding Bz-Tyr-13C-PABA) is provided. The present invention further provides a 13C- or 14C-labeled compound expressed by the following formula or their salts. Formula: X2-R2-Y2-Z1 (X2 is H or a protecting group; R2 is a peptide having an amino acid number of 2-5, an amino acid or a single bond; Y2 is an amino acid; Z1 is a (protected) amino acid; when X2, Z1 and the amino acid in R2, Y2 and Z1 are carbon- containing protecting groups, at least one of the protecting groups is labeled with 13C or 14C).
