摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively obtain, by a simple manufacturing method, a joint member such as split T-sections formed from high tensile strength rolled shape steel and rolled steel plates for joint, used as a structural member for a building, particularly a joining member for a building. SOLUTION: As to the high friction steel material for joint and its manufacturing method, the steel material for construction use has a composition which contains 0.15-0.20 wt.% C and to which slight amounts of Ni, Cu, and Mo and added as essential elements. In the steel material, the concentration ratio of Ni/Cu is >=0.8, the thickness of an internal oxidated layer on the surface of the steel material is <=2μm, and a concentrated layer of Ni, Cu, and Mo of >=2μm thickness is formed on the internal oxidated layer, and further, within the region of a depth of 3 mm from the surface, the thickness having >420 Vickers hardness HV is regulated to 0.5 mm.
