CUTTING DEVICE AND PRINTER EMPLOYING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively protect the knife edge of a cutting blade in a printer equipped with a cutting device capable of letting cutter blade themselves be separated from each other. SOLUTION: In a cutting device 20, a stationary blade 51 is supported by a cover frame 8 mounted to a main body frame 7 in such a way as to be freely opened/closed. A shutter 15 to be freely fluctuated is provided for the cover frame 8 to cover the knife edge 51a of the stationary blade 51. In a state that the cover frame 8 is opened, the shutter 15 is positioned so as to be fixed thereto by engaging the locking part 8d of the cover frame 8 with the locking part 15e of the shutter part 15.
