PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive not to cause a sense of incongruity at the time when it is grasped with a hand by forming a number of traverse grooves on a wooden round bar, and making the shape in a substantially continuing tangential line at a contact point of both ends of each traverse groove and the surface of the round bar. SOLUTION: A wooden round bar 1 is mounted on a table 3, cutting work is performed while a hand drum type cutting blade 2 is rotated, and traverse grooves 11 for grasping are formed in an arbitrary angle range of the round bar 1. Whenever one traverse groove 11 is formed, the round rod 1 is intermittently moved up to a constant distance, successively cutting work is repeated, and a number of the traverse grooves 11 are formed. A tangential line (a) of the half-circular surface of the round rod 1 and the half-elliptical group traverse groove 11 is continuous, and a corner part is not produced on both ends of the traverse groove 11. Thus, when the wooden handrail bar is grasped, a sense of incongruity is not sensed.
|
