PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the safety device of a shutter that can stop the shutter by compressing a tape switch within the groove of a guide rail by means of the side end part of a link mechanism in the case where a seat plate comes in contact with an obstacle during shutter dropping. SOLUTION: The shutter safety device is formed that a seat plate 3 being situated within the guide groove 7a of a guide rail 7 by both its end parts is comprised of a seat plate frame and a movable member 3b being movably lifted upward and downward with respect to the seat plate frame, and the seat plate frame is provided with an actuator 100 consisting of a link mechanism that is shifted by the movable member 3b and compresses a tape switch 10 provided at the bottom wall within either left and right or one of the guide rails 7.
