PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet aligning apparatus for preventing occurrence of a fault bookbinding due to backbone irregular alignment of a book bundle. SOLUTION: A fixed side anti-slip plate 26 is provided at a lower part of a fixed plate 22a of a clamper on a level plate (flat plate) 21, and a movable side anti-slip plate 21 is disposed at a lower part of a movable plate 22b of the clamper. The movable side anti-slip plate is disposed at one end freely slidable on the plate 21 and fixed at the other end to a movable side width regulating plate 32b of a milling treating unit. The plate 32b is moved according to a thickness of a book bundle to be bookbound, and an interval between the plate 32a and the plate 32b is regulated. In this case, the movable side plate is slid on the plate 21 to regulate an interval to the plate 26, thereby aligning backbones of the bundle.
