A cop tube-changing carriage in a ring spinning machine can be accurately aligned with the spindles. The carriage is rapidly driven along the rails 3 until switch 10 is tripped by cam 31 on the machine. The carriage thereafter moves slowly until switch 12, tripped by cam 32, stops it. Cam operated switch 11 initiates movement of a slide on the carriage at right angles to the direction of travel. The wide-mouthed centering socket 6 and member 61, either of which may be on the carriage or machine/floor, engage and ensure accurate alignment of the carriage with a spindle. A socket on the carriage is also connected to the machine so that the batteries of the carriage motor may be recharged and so far to operate the cop tube-charger. Rack rails 41, 41' and push bars below them are aligned vertically by short connecting pieces pivoted to rails 41' and having centering ends.</p> |
