COATING MATERIAL AND COATING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material capable of easily coating at a low cost and to provide a coating method using the coating material. SOLUTION: The coating material contains a mixture of 30-50 wt.% coarse particulate powder of a nitride or carbide having 10-40μm particle diameter, 40-50 wt.% medium particulate powder of yttria having 1-10μm particle diameter and 5-20 wt.% fine particulate powder of yttria having 0.1-1μm particle diameter. The fine particulate powder, a dispersant and a dispersive medium are mixed to disperse the fine particulate powder, the coarse particulate powder and the medium particulate powder are added and they are mixed to prepare a slurry. A substrate is coated with the slurry, dried and heat-treated at a temp. of 900-1,200 deg.C.
