PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound having excellent endothelin converting enzyme inhibiting activity and useful as a treating agent or preventing agent for hypertension, arteriosclerosis, cardiac infarction, etc. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [R1 is an alkyl or the like; R2 and R3 are each H or the like; R4 is H or the like; R5 is H or the like; R6 is a group of the formula Rz-B0-Y-A0; Rz is H or the like; Y is a group of the formula O-C (O) or the like; A0 and B0 are each a single bond or the like; one or more hydrogens on carbon of A0 and Rz-B0 are substitutable with an alkyl or the like], preferably 4-cyano-1-phenyl-3- phenoxycarbonylmethyl-5- 3-(4-chlorobenzenesulfonyl) ureido}-(1H)-pyrazole or the like. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound of formula II (R6' is R6 or the like) [e.g. 5-amino-4-cyano-1-phenyl-3- phenoxycarbonylmethyl-(1H)-pyrazole] with a compound of formula III [e.g. 4-chlorobenzenesulfonylisocyanate].
