摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin foam having a specific density, having good lightweight, heat resistance, high-temperature stability, heat-insulating properties, dynamic strength, etc., and useful for interior materials, heat insulators, etc., in building field, automobile and railway rolling stock field, field, etc., of household appliance and electrical and electronic appliances. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic polyester-based resin foam has 0.01-0.6 g/cm3 density. The density of thermoplastic polyester-based resin (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate-based resin) of the resin foam itself is >=1.39 g/cm3. It is preferable that the closed cell ratio of the resin foam is >=80% and the average diameter of the foam cell is <=0.5 mm and the volume change ratio after retaining at 70 deg.C for 72 hr is <=6% and the expansion rate is >=7 times and the foam is a plate-like material having >=10 mm thickness. Preferably 0.2-5 pts.wt. crystallization promoter (e.g. low density polyethylene) may be added to 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester-based resin.
