PRODUCTION OF FRICTION MATERIAL

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a friction material using a novolak-type phenolic resin as a binder without the need of caring about the moisture control for the phenolic resin and the humidity condition for the atmosphere in the manufacturing site. SOLUTION: This method for producing a friction material comprises the preliminary molding of a mixture of a fibrous base material, phenolic resin as a binder and friction regulator to a specified shape followed by thermoforming of the preliminarily molded form; wherein a gaseous hexamethylenetetramine 12 is sprayed on the preliminarily molded form 6 in the thermoforming process; in this case, the gaseous hexamethylenetetramine is issued via an issue port provided on a mold 5 for the thermoforming operation.
