PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To withdraw a melting pot after cooling without using a jig by demarcating the inside of the side face of a supporting crucible supporting a melting pot by the curved face except the cylindrical face. SOLUTION: The inside of the side face of a supporting crucible supporting a melting pot is demarcated by a curved face selected from the truncated cone, paraboloid of revolution and hyperboloid of revolution. One or more notches, connections and/or slits extending vertically or obliquely to the direction to the bottom face of the crucible are provided on the side wall of the supporting crucible. One or more notches, connections and/or slits extending radially, symmetrically or asymmetrically along the direction to the bottom face of the crucible are furnished. The supporting crucible is preferably formed from ultrahigh-purity graphite, CFC(carbon fiber-reinforced carbon), CCC(carbon- carbon composite), or the like.
