PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automated storage and retrieval system which has a compact size, and can single stroke. SOLUTION: An article is transferred between a roller conveyer 4 and a frame body 18 by passing the teeth of the comb of the frame body 18 up and down in the clearances of the rollers 8 and 8 of the roller conveyer 4. Plural frame bodies 18 are provided, and they are supported by cantilever columns 16 to make into a stocker 2. Numerous stokers 2 are provided in parallel in order to connect the upper parts of the columns 16, so as to form an automated storage and retrieval system.
