PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the defibrillator small-sized and light-weighted to be easily carried by an early medical responder. SOLUTION: A manganese dioxide lithium primary battery 94 and a main printed wiring circuit 86 are accommodated in a housing having a volume of under 150 cubic inch. The main printed wiring circuit 86 is provided with an electrode connector 82 to which two electrodes forming the electric contact with the outside of a patient are connected, a connecting mechanism for forming an electric circuit with the manganese dioxide lithium primary battery 94 and two electrodes, and a controller for operating the connecting mechanism to transmit the electric energy from the manganese dioxide lithium primary battery 94 to each electrode.
