PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a spray type burner device of a simple structure, excellent in space saving property, and permit the switching of burner combustion/ burner purge/burner stop through a simple control. SOLUTION: A spray type burner device is provided with a four-way valve 4, interposed in a fuel oil pipeline 2 and a burner steam pipeline 3, which are extended from a burner 1, so as to be capable of switching of burner combustion/burner purge/burner stop by only switching the flow passages of the fuel oil and burner steam through one set of the four-way vale 4. In the burner combustion mode, the fuel oil and the burner steam are sent to the burner 1, and in the burner purge mode, the burner steam is sent into the fuel oil pipeline 2 while the outflow of the fuel oil and the burner steam is precluded in the burner stop mode.
