RANGE CHANGEOVER DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent emission of low grade noises without increasing the failure mode. SOLUTION: This range changeover device for an automatic transmission is equipped with a manual spool 3 coupled with a select lever in a car cabin and changing over the pressure in a hydraulic circuit of the transmission. A minor diametric portion 10a is formed on a detent pin 10 which transmits the operating force fed to the select lever to the manual spool 3, and an intermediate member 21 made of synthetic resin in cylindrical body is fitted on the minor portion 10a. The member 21 prevents the vibration of the spool 3 from being transmitted to the select lever. When the member 21 is broken, the operating force of the select lever is transmitted to the spool 3 through the minor portion 10a of the detent pin 10.
