PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile body structure capable of realizing a deformation mode compatible of compactifying the body dimensions and reducing crew deceleration to a still higher level. SOLUTION: This automobile body structure is to include a crushing part 6 separating reaction production members 1 receiving compression load parallel with the actuating direction of the deceleration at the time of collision as for the deceleration actuating direction and connecting the two points of a mutually offsetted body structure together through hinge means 5F, 5R as for the direction facing orthogonal to the actuating direction of the deceleration. Thus reaction load actuating on the axis of the crushing part 6 can be raised at the initial stage of collision and gradually reduced correspondingly to the progress of contraction deformation of the crushing part 6 because the axial angle of the crushing part 6 increases relative to the body deceleration direction accompanying the contraction of the space between the two ends of the crushing part 6.
