PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obatin a grinding method in order to get a ceramic plate with a plane surface and with the end having no roundness. SOLUTION: In the plane grinding method of a work, the following processes from (1) to (10) are applied. (1) A process to approach a grinding wheel from the starting point to approach to the upper surface of the work. (2) A rough process to grind a desired cutting amount by the grinding wheel. (3) An accurate process to grind a desired cutting amount by the grinding wheel. (4) A spark-out process to trace work surface by the grinding wheel at the cutting amount 0 mm. (5) A retracting process to return the grinding wheel to the starting point. (6) A process to move the grinding wheel from the starting point to the position before starting the accurate process at the above (3). (7) The accurate process of the above (3). (8) The spark-out process. (9) A process to repeat the processes of the above (5), (6), (7), and (8) in this order at (n) rounds [(n) is an integral number from 1 to 10, in this case]. (10) A retracting process to return the grinding wheel to the starting point.
