PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thread guard which can prevent the cut or displacement of thread even when low strength thread is used for binding an article to be bound. SOLUTION: This thread guard is provided with a thread winding mechanism for winding thread around an article to be bound, a knotter unit 4 for knotting the thread bound, a thread fixing part 7 for fixing the thread so as the thread is inserted and held between a base 5 and a button 6, a lever 8 for moving the thread toward the knotter unit 4, an adjusting mechanism for adjusting the energizing power of the button 6 on the base 5, a moving mechanism 35 for moving the knotter unit 4 in an A or a B direction and a displacement mechanism 60 for displacing the lever 8. The adjusting mechanism is so structured that the same can adjust the energizing power of the button 6 on the base 5 according to the position of the knotter unit 4. The displacement mechanism 60 and the moving mechanism 35 are so structured that the same are moved in an interlocking motion by the drive mechanism 40. |
