PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the number of gradations in multi values by outputting a pulse selection signal in a recording cycle, selecting a predetermined pulse and applying to a pressuregenerating element. SOLUTION: After a first pulse COM21 of a second driving signal COM2 is selected and applied to a piezoelectric vibrator in a first cycle T1 of one recording cycle T, if a second pulse COM12 of a first driving signal COM1 is selected and applied to the piezoelectric vibrator in a second cycle T2 of the same recording cycle T, a large and a small two ink drops 8ng and 6ng hit a recording paper successively, which mix to substantially obtain a dot diameter of 14ng. A weight of ink drops can be switched to 14ng, 15ng by combining pulses of the first and second driving signals COM1, COM21. Therefore, the weight of ink drops can be switched to nine values simply by using driving signals of two systems. Gradations can be displayed in larger values than by an increase in kind of common signals COM and number of common signal lines. |
