PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an umbrella which enables a user to get rid of a gloomy feeling by strongly appealing the elements to better the feeling to the five senses of the user when the umbrella is put up at the time of long rain or the like. SOLUTION: This umbrella 1a has a hollow center rod 2 and a gore 3 mounted at the center rod 2. Perfume is housed in the center rod 2. A handle 4 is mounted at the lower pat of the center rod 2 and a ferrule is mounted at the upper part. The intermediate part of the center rod 2 is provided with hole parts 6 at two points. The center rod 2 is provided with an upper lathe 7, a runner 8, an upper repellent 9 and a repellent 10 at the prescribed points thereof. Main ribs 11 are mounted at the inside surface of the gore 3 and the base ends of the main ribs 11 are turnably mounted at the upper pulley 7. Support ribs 12 are installed between the respective main ribs 11 and the runner 8. The base ends of the support ribs 12 are made turnable with respect to the runner 8 and the front ends 11 thereof turnable with respect to the main ribs 11, respectively.
