PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily insert and arrange the tip of the inserting part of an ultrasonic endoscope to a desired lesion part. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic image forming device 13 is provided with an ultrasonic transmitting and receiving circuit 23 which transmits a driving signal driving the ultrasonic oscillator 5 of the ultrasonic endoscope 1 and receives an ultrasonic echo signal from the oscillator 5 and CPU 25 which signal- processes the respective signals of the position/direction of a magnetic source 8 and the positions of marker sources 16 from a position detector 18 to display a three-dimensional ultrasonic image on a monitor for ultrasonic waves 12 and to display the positions of the sources 16 and the position of the source 8 on a monitor for a marker 24.
