PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a storing box for metal parts, capable of withstanding a high temperature at the time of storing castings or forgings, lowering noises at the time of storing such parts dropping into the box, making its weight light and being manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: This storing box is composed of a circumferential wall 2 and a bottom plate 3, both being formed with two steel plates 5, 6, inner one and outer one, and a space therebetween being filled with diatomaceous earth. Flanges projecting inside are provided at lower edges of the circumferential wall 2, and the bottom plate 3 dropped into the inside of the circumferential wall is supported on these flanges. The bottom plate 3 can be made so as to have many protrusions or the shape of repeated protrusions and recesses. The diatomaceous earth is porous, rich in water absorbability and light in weight and has a crumbly property. The storing box composed of the circumferential wall 2 and the bottom plate 3, both being constituted with the inner and outer steel plates and having the diatomaceous earth with which the spaces therebetween are filled, withstands a high temperature, makes a noise low even at the time of impingement with metal parts dropped thereinto, can moreover minimize an increase in the weight thereof, which may be caused by making a noise suppressing structure, and can be manufactured at low cost. The bottom plate, which is detachably supported on the flanges, can simply be replaced when it is damaged, and the maintenance and inspection of the storing box becomes easier. |
