PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a uniform crosslinked polyolefin by homogeneously dispersing a free radical-producing agent in a polyolefin. SOLUTION: This method comprises graft binding of an organosilicon compound to a polyolefin, crosslinking the graft-bound polymer in the presence of water and a silanol condensation catalyst to produce the aimed crosslinked polyolefin; wherein a free radical-producing agent has been previously compounded in another polymer with a lower flow temperature than that of the polyolefin rather than in the polyolefin, and the resulting polymer is mixed with the polyolefin. As the polymer, an ethylene-propylene copolymer, an ethylene-propylene-conjugated diene terpolymer or the like can be especially used. It is particularly preferable that as the polymer, a polymer having a specific correlation between an apparent viscosity measured at 200 deg.C and an apparent shear rate is used.
