PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a cosmetic excellent in temporal stability and feeling when being used without impairing the characteristics of galactomannans and Xanthan gum by employing a product from galactomannans heat-treated under a specific condition. SOLUTION: The cosmetics are prepared by including at least one kind selected from the group consisting of (A) galactomannans and (B) Xanthan gum, where the quantity of >=0.1 wt.% of which is heat-treated at 55-150 deg.C for >=1 min and, optionally, (C) at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a 2-8C polyhydric alcohol having 2-6 OH groups, its polymer, its sodium alcoholate and its potassium alcoholate. It is pref, that at least one kind selected from the group consisting of (A) galactomannans and (B) Xanthan gum is included, the quantity of >=0.1 wt.% of the ingredient A is heat-treated and the ingredient A heat-treated has <=0.8 mJ/mg endothermic enthalpy at 40-70 deg.C.
