PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mouth rinsing agent excellent in an antiseptic property, hardly causing irritation and a bitter taste, excellent in feeling when being used, and including <=5% ethanol and no microbicide. SOLUTION: This highly antiseptic agent for rinsing the mouth is prepared by formulating (A) at least one polyhydric alcohol selected from the group consisting of isoprene glycol, dipropylene glycol and 1,2-pentanediol and (B) at least one kind of alkyl p-oxybenzoates, and the agent hardly has irritation and is very excellent in feeling when being used.
