PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a select response delay from causing a problem in time of a select operation from a non-driving range to a driving range even after long use of an automatic transmission. SOLUTION: When an engine speed Ne does not fall to a prescribed speed or less (Ne<=Nid-ΔNe) within a set time Ts after a time t1 at which a select operation from a non-driving range to a driving range is carried out, that is, when fastening does not start without a stroke of a friction element for a start completed, a select response can worsen to cause a problem. In this case, a discharge rate of an oil pump of an automatic transmission driven by an engine is enlarged, by idling up the engine at an instantaneous time t2 when the set time Ts passes such that the engine speed Ne is raised from the engine speed Ne at the instantaneous time t2. Thereby, the stroke of the friction element for the start is rapidly completed so that the worse of the select response is avoided.
|
